Being a single mother and currently unemployed, Lisa has recently been taking steps to lower her energy bill and working on updating her home to save money during the approaching winter. She has caulked around all the windows, changed all her light bulbs to the new ENERGY STAR CFLs, put plug covers on all the outside facing walls and continues to look for ways to keep her energy bill affordable being out of work. She is really making a difference during these tight economical times.
Q: What is the smartest energy decision you have made? Changing all light bulbs to ENERGY STAR CFLs.
Q: How has this decision affected your lifestyle and your wallet for the better? It cut my energy bill down by about 30 percent!
Q: Are you surprised at the big changes that came from making a small change? I was very surprised and also very happy about the savings.
Q: What led you to make the decision in the first place? Losing my job. I had to make some budget changes.
Q: How have you shared your experience with others? I’ve let all my family and friends know and they have seen their energy bill drop also.
